Olaudah Equiano was an influential African writer and abolitionist, whose autobiography, “The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano,” significantly advanced the abolitionist cause in Britain. Kidnapped and sold into slavery during his childhood, Equiano bought his freedom and became a leading figure in the anti-slavery movement.
